I am finally back!!!
You may have been wondering where I went!
I am finally home after being stuck in Connecticut for an extra 4 days due to the Christmas weekend blizzard on the east coast
. We were supposed to fly out Monday evening and the storm was all done and the sky was blue but the New York airports didĀ not open until mid-day and our flight was cancelled
. I figured no big deal – we could get a flight out the next am – boy, was I wrong! Due to the extent of the storm that hit most of the east coast and already full holiday travel we did not make it home until the wee hours of Friday 12/31.
So, I am finally home! I missed you Colorado! I apologize for not blogging – there was a ton going on, computer/Internet access issues, family outings and other personal stuff. I am back now and ready to begin 2011 with great nutrition, wellness and happiness.
I arrived in a snow storm in Denver on Thursday night/Friday am so I could not get to the grocery stores I wanted so my refrigerator and kitchen are not as stocked as I would like but I am still making sure I have veggies or fruit, lean protein, and whole grains at most meals. I am feeling like I need extra veggies and lean protein for energy so that will be my focus this week.
If you made a New Year’s Resolution, stay inspired by keeping a picture or find a mantra which reminds you of your goal. Examples: if you are trying to get fit or loose weight – maybe get a picture of an outfit that you really want to wear or maybe you haveĀ dress you want to fit back into – hang the garment or picture in your bathroom, kitchen or office to remind you of your goal. Link emotion with your goal – imagine yourself feeling wonderful, confident, powerful and proud after getting healthier and fitter.
Or develop a mantra that clearly expresses your intention for your goal. Maybe your goal is to eat healthier, cook more often or keep a better eye on your finances. Here are a couple of my past mantras, “My body allows me to do the activities I love; my body deserves good food and exercise,” or “I have enough in my life (money) and appreciate all I have”, “My body will reflect my health, strength and commitment to wellness and I will rock my summer bikini and feel amazing”.
What is your intention? If you link your goal to a more overarching motivation/inspiration such as getting healthier to play with your kids vs. fitting into skinny jeans and focus on the emotions you think you will feel when you reach that goal – you will more likely achieve your goal.
Thanks for reading again and happy new year!!!!
