A Full Refrigerator . . .

my fridge - you can see how we are a bit nuts about condiments - mostly Will's different hot sauces!

I love a refrigerator full of food! You have heard me talk before about the importance of being prepared by making your lunch the day before, having quick dinner ideas and go-to easy breakfast options available at home. If you do not have to brainstorm too much about what you are going to eat then you will make smarter food choices especially if you are already hungry.

Love my spinach!

I shop for certain items at Costco and find their prices awesome for some things such as organic baby spinach, red bell peppers, Fage Greek yogurt, eggs (they sell local eggs in Colorado Costco’s), almond butter, organic milk, hormone free and organic chicken, marinara pasta sauce, nuts, and dried fruit. (See a past post about my favorite food items) πŸ™‚

Here is my shopping basket from last night. I bought my husband, Will, sunflowers for IMAGE_045his/our new office as he has his first session in the new office today – he is a marriage and family psychotherapist (whbtherapy.com). Makes me think if some guys would freak out if their wife bought them flowers but I know Will loves sunflowers and I thought is was a nice gesture to support and congratulate him on the success of his private practice. Besides, he liked them πŸ˜‰

This morning I was back to my green monster smoothie – mmm so good. There is something so simple, not too sweet and very nutritious tasting – like I am filling my body with all sorts of good stuff (spinach, blueberries, flaxseeds, almond butter, whey protein). Love it! Also, if you are in a rush you can sip in the car or while you are running around getting ready for the day.

Question: What is your favorite quick breakfast? Please post your comments!

I've been making homemade granola bars with oats, almonds, sunflower seeds, dried fruit and honey. They're not low-calorie, but they taste good and are better than many other options!
